Come and Learn the Daily Cat Stretch to maintain a Happy Relaxed Body
This is a great maintenance programme to keep tension at bay for all of us bodyworkers and teachers. You will also take away some great remedial interventions for your clients
Somatic Movement is a method of neuromuscular re-education, which addresses the underlying cause of chronic muscular-skeletal pain. It uses specific movement techniques to re-educate the sensory motor system for greater voluntary neuromuscular control, release chronic muscle tension and allow you to relearn natural, efficient movement patterns. The overall experience is one of a body meditation bringing mind-body integration, deep relaxation and a sense of true well being.
In this workshop I will be teaching Tom Hanna’s daily cat stretch - a series of 9 movement sequences designed to maintain a fluid relaxed and balanced body. You will be given written notes to take away with you for self practice. I will also be explaining the fundamental principles behind Somatic Movement Education.
The workshop is suitable for those experiencing muscular pain, stress, or for anyone who is interested in deepening their body awareness and releasing tension. The workshop will be a treat for busy teachers - an opportunity to re-connect with your own mind and body There will be periods of rest and a break in the middle so bring some snacks and fluids!
Please bring layers to wear so that you stay warm throughout the workshop. Mats and cushions will be provided.
